yeah like genuinely if sony proceeds in this direction, the only console that will exist in the general public will be the switch 2 they'll see playstation sections in their stores go away and just think "oh I guess no more playstation"

wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that certain genres like JRPGs or platformers lean WAY more in favor of physical. those genres are full of dedicated fans and they would be hit harder by removing physical than a sports game, per se
I feel like it's important to recognize that THIS is what's happening. Sony's somehow banking on everyone who gets physical games to only get digital from now on, when in reality they're cutting of one stream of revenue and making their brand less relevant to many
sony is probably sweating from people cancelling their PS+ but I also think they're getting heat form publsihers and are just hoping it blows over or that they're big enough to just tank the hit
When they inevitably come crawling back (either when nobody buys a PS6 or if GTA6 flops hard) going “p-pwease buy our new discs, we care about the fans 🥺” be sure to point and laugh. @playstation.com you're gonna fail out of existence and everyone will laugh at you. You’ve only yourself to blame

I love you all but you are incredibly (understandably) reactive. It’s making you SO easily manipulated by rage baiters. When you see something without context, a headline or a snippet of a quote, take a deep breath and look into it to see if you really should be upset. Please protect your hearts.
vibe coded decomps+recomps are doomed to crash and burn. projects rapidly popping up but they are bloated to the point where maintaining them is unfeasible. how is that sustainable? you can't just shortcut around making good code, and these slop projects are gonna have to find out the hard way
