While true that inordinate attention is paid to what happens in Cambridge-Oxford as @donalh.bsky.social noted yesterday, this particular business is dangerous for all of the sector. It's being used to suggest that equalities work & socsci/ humanities are the problem everywhere. It's anti HE.
Does this person do anything than shit on other people who might be mildly different from her?

I kind of wish it wasn't me either 😅 I've been quite enjoying the break. However, it is good to have many colleagues coming together to demand management own up to this. I am grateful.

Sad to hear of Jeremy Prynne's passing. I didn't know his work very well but he was a good comrade. My last memory of him is from many years ago sitting in my small college rooms with a handful of others, eating pie and plotting the overthrow of the Tory government.
The full story of Orr's appointment has yet to be told. White men have always had a free pass at Cambridge, nothing new there, but this fascist-adjacent has set new standards for things they can say and do with no consequences.

As a firm believer of the "people contain multitudes" school of thought with a range of feelings on the man, I am confident in saying that uwu romanticization of Lenin, is bad.
Labour just announced energy price cap dropped. Oil just spiked, completely undoing that. Given 50% of UK energy is from renewables, now is the time to renationalise and drop the dumbass marginal price system that makes green energy needlessly as expensive as gas.

I can tell him that they’re the hungriest for education and far from being unable to graduate, they regularly get the highest grades. Hateful man.
