i know we dont post much here. we tend to check in, look at cute pics of foxxos, buns, & kitties. then all the other stuff makes us depressed & we check out again before the urge to actually say anything catches up to us. so uh, idk. thank you for the cute foxxos, buns, & kitties i guess

do other authors get sad when they finish writing a book / series? yesterday i wrote the last chapter of the last book of a saga i've been working on since 2021 & it made me very sad. like i was saying goodbye to old friends after going thru a bunch of adventures with them

cw: rant goddess we hate UPS. to the point where we won't do business with places if we know they use UPS to ship stuff first ups said it'd be delivered aug 18, 09h30 - 13h30 so we made sure to be home then. 14h30 tracking updated to "end of day today" ofc they never showed up at all >:(

we've been writers blocked for almost 10 days now & its getting annoying. we were hoping to finish the 1st draft of our current project by tomorrow, but thats definitely not gonna happen... theres at least 6 more chapters to go, unless characters get zoomies again

its backyard berry time! spent like 2 or 3 minutes just wandering around the yard & easily filled a little bowl with fresh black raspberries! free tasty treats make us happy ^^

our raspberry bushes are looking good this morning too, we can see a dozen berries ready to go! they're black raspberries, no idea where they came from but one year they started growing in our yard. now we've got 3 huge stands of them ^^

a big bunch of raspberry bushes growing in between the side of a wood deck and a wood fence, the bushes have countless berries on them, but most aren't ripe yet. many are green, some are pale red, only a few are dark red, and a couple are black (their final colour)a close-up of some unpicked raspberries, most aren't ripe yet but one black raspberry in the centre is ready to go!

today's introspection revelation: i have two modes. "too busy writing to focus on anything else" and "too deep in the anxiety / panic attack to deal with anything else" either way we have a lot of trouble getting most stuff done

i know there's like, sciency stuff going on here? but as long as i'm looking at this picture all i hear in my head is "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (i really hope i spelt that right lol) that has to be intentional right? like, they wanted it to look like the monolith?

Sometimes the supporting characters steal the show. When #NASAWebb imaged globular cluster M92, the gap between its NIRCam’s detectors blocked the bright, dense center. As a result of this black strip, the region’s outskirts show up clearly: bit.ly/4isAlvO 🔭 🧪

A rectangular image oriented horizontally appears to be two separate square images with a wide black gap in between. The two squares do not mirror each other exactly or align perfectly. It looks instead like they are two parts of a larger image that has been obscured in the middle by a black strip. Both squares are filled with blue, white, yellow, and red points of light of different size and brightness, most of which are stars. The larger and brighter stars show Webb’s distinctive diffraction pattern consisting of eight spikes radiating from the center. Both squares show an increase in density of stars toward the central gap. Altogether, the stars appear to form a loose ball-like shape whose core is obscured by the gap.

we have left the house & done our votey thing for canada. now we retreat back into our author's hidey-hole & avoid the news while we write stories & quietly hope for the best possible outcome, where nobody has to worry about discrimination or systemic violence anymore *anxious kitty sounds*

on thursday the laundryroom door fell off when we opened it. fixed it yesterday & now it works perfectly. all last week our kitchen tap was getting more & more drippy. replaced the valve cartridge this morning, now there's no drips & it works great! feeling kinda chuffed with ourself today ^^
