Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

I don’t want to be too sensationalist about this but also I’m the least violent person in the world and I think if someone said this to my face I’d hit them

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

Made an ig account. Algo gives me assloads of genAI. Made me think about the sheer unimaginable amount of this shit that’s gunking up the internet right now. When the end times come the aliens will have nothing to study in the aftermath but the event fliers littering the streets.

You’re all hurting my feelings. “Who asked for another Christmas Carol”. ME, OKAY?! The vendor at the asking-for-stuff booth ran out of clovers and animal paws and I had to go with one of the sticks from Obsession.
