If Squarespace works for you, fantastic. I use it for my personal site, but my goodness, trying to actually use it for content and publishing is a WRECK. Markdown support is kind of a joke and even regular text formatting is hair-pulling. Already planning a rewrite with Ghost when I have more time.

BTW we have a @technicaltea.show Patreon up if you'd like an ad-free RSS feed of podcast episodes for only $1.24. We already have our first patron today (thank you so much! Withholding name for privacy but just know we super appreciate you). www.patreon.com/technicaltea...

My hobby is asking companies how they measure whether their AI features actually work. Almost nobody has a good answer. “We get 11 personas to review your résumé and suggest improvements.” How do you know they’re improvements? They don’t. It’s just snake oil. Every time.

NEW: A glimpse at how AI image generators are used. Researchers set up a fake image editor on Hugging Face and within a week received 1,000 prompts. 73% of them were sexual and 83% of those were asking for people (women) to be “undressed”. Around 6% of the sexual requests also targeted minors

Hugging Face Has a Deepfake Nudes Problem

Researchers tested top image editing models on Hugging Face and found they could easily create explicit deepfakes—and 1,000 image editing prompts show how people use the software.

Once again the desire to learn to solder is bubbling up in my soul and somehow it feels like the most timely, appropriate skill I could pick up these days. Yes, this might be foreshadowing of possible podcast content and/or an earnest desire to make things… real, physical things. どっちもいいんじゃないね?

Welp, unable to pre-order the new Z Fold 8 because oh my lord, is the site just soiling the bed. Just wipes my cart when I go to check out. Looking on Reddit, seems like it's happening to a lot of folks. Happy Unpacked Day, y'all.
