again people are focused on if it is useful in the short and not on its real world impact this is the kind of thing that really makes me wonder about our species a weak ability to comprehend effects that are not instant and personal
Rémi Verschelde@akien.bsky.social · 2mo agoI’m well aware that AI is a sensitive topic, and that some of you may be upset to learn that Godot even tolerates some of it. I believe we have a fairly pragmatic stance that keeps AI at arm’s length, based on our experience maintaining Godot for 12 years. I know that won’t satisfy everyone.

climate and cognitive impacts of gen ai in this thread most people are focused on "can this tool be useful" and ignore its real-world impact to me, it should not matter how useful a tool is when it has such widespread ongoing negative outcomes for everybody
and just because it has been forced into one of our dependencies for not mean we have to give it a free pass OP is pure doom-posting which is funny because UZDoom bans slop
Sky@skylarkblue1.itch.io · 2mo agoThere's a lot of games using custom engines by devs who don't use genAI. There's people who make their own tools. It is not 100%. Valve changed it, and don't enforce it in general, because they're fine with genAI and want to help it. They've been using it for store banners.
