Curious about sex in Singapore?

How often do adults (aged 21-60) engage in different types of sexual activity with partners, such as mutual masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, and vaginal sex?

What are these patterns and how do they vary across one's age, gender, and sexual
orientation?

How do sexual behavior patterns correlate with one's engagement with sex workers and sexually transmitted infections (STI) status?

We address these questions in our study.

Why does understanding sex in Singapore matter?

Learning about sexual health and behaviors is important for promoting overall public health in the local context. However, cultural norms and societal values in Singapore as elsewhere in Asia often prevent us from having an open conversation about sexual matters.

Our study informs targeted sexual health interventions, such as STI screening and
prevention, and public health messaging in Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian
region.
