People keep acting like spending boatloads of money is the only way to win a campaign. It really, truly isn't - if you have a genuine grassroots campaign that people can believe in. Astroturf doesn't work.

Pretty sure when you win the election it's a big election night. Pretty sure when your party's leadership all endorses the loser, it means the leadership is out of touch with the electorate.

Do people have any idea how hard it is to break a two year old's collarbone? Kids are still all flexible and bendy at that age. I was a klutzy kid with a climbing habit, a bullying older brother, and parents who spanked and never broke my collarbone despite various falls, trips, and hits.

senator bernie moreno finally makes a statement about the allegations of abuse by rep. max miller against his daughter and granddaughter after miller went live on X this morning to deny everything.

"Israel “crucified their Messiah."" Raised (but now ex) christian & this does not make sense and has never made sense. The crucifixion & resurrection of Jesus was *necessary* for our Salvation! The whole damn religion is based on Jesus knowing He was going to die for our sins & doing it anyway!

I was today years old when I learned that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand attends a bible study group that teaches that Jewish people killed Jesus, which has been used to justify antisemitism and associated violence against us Jews.

again, the danger from AI is not that it will attain sentience and destroy us. the danger is that it's a mindless flattery machine and being mindlessly flattered literally drives people insane.

A shitlib blocked me for using verified scientific and medical sources to correct his erroneous (and dangerous) statements that "If there are no HIV antibodies, there's no HIV in the blood", and other failures to understand HIV transmission. How have we become so careless about viral diseases?

The possibility of false negatives is the reasoning given for deferring people who take PrEP: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37741792/ Breakthrough cases of HIV are known to occur, though they are rare: www.aidsmap.com/about-hiv/pr... In Feibig Stage I and II infection, antibody tests will be negative even

Mandated Reporter laws *require* that all reports be investigated, and they protect people who make allegations IN GOOD FAITH even if they turn out to be unfounded. A person who is "mentally unstable" can still make a valid report. Knowingly making false, malicious abuse reports is a crime.

Exclusive: Officials relied on a vague and unsubstantiated allegation to separate Pete Buttigieg from his young twins last month. Previously unreported police records, obtained by The Post, and an interview with the apparent complainant offer the most detailed account yet: wapo.st/4wt1Zjs

In case you haven't heard, the FDA changed the rules to allow more LGBTQ donors to give blood. However, trans girlies, take it from a cis former spironolactone user, donating blood plus taking spiro can drop your blood pressure to "fainting in public repeatedly" levels, even if your iron is fine.

"On Monday, the Red Cross declared a national blood crisis for the second time ever in its history."

The documents show that days after the twins died, an anti-vaccine activist and registered nurse named Angela Marie Wulbrecht reached out, claiming she could help get an independent autopsy on their bodies. This seems to have set several things in motion:

oh wow! what big bank is behind this!? <squints> Capital Financial Services S.A., a licensed financial institution in Romania. Hmm, lets see what linkedin says... 8 employees zero posts Net assets of 24mil in Romanian currency ($5.7mil) Yep...that looks like something to put your money in

For many years, people didn’t randomly film others in public—not because we didn’t have the technology, but because the social contract said you didn’t do that. That’s why Meta is going full court press on their PR and celebrity endorsements. They remember how people ran google glass outta town.
