someone needs to make the ffxv 1.0 defence essay. i was gonna do it for the anniversary but its been a rough year. but i truly believe that most of the additions have made the game worse. they've added more "content" but the things that make it special were always there in 2016
everyone's all like oh ffxv 1.0 doesn't even have a final dungeon what a piece of shit but they forget that those completely unfinished, barely functional final 30 minutes of that game still contain at minimum, four of the best moments in the entire series

Mario 64 is probably the best 3d Mario game still and I think that mostly happens because it was SO early that they HAD to build for what they had, which kinda had them fall into this crazy cool playground design space they never revisited.
