Don't forget, tonight's the night! Just set the flowers and fried rice on the roof of any Costco, so it's easy for her to get them. bsky.app/profile/rnrk...
Arin Arcady@rnrkd.bsky.social · 2mo agoEvery October 12, children set out fresh cut flowers and fried rice for the Key Deer, who flies from Key West to deliver blank keys to Costcos all over North America. Unfortunately the stock is usually depleted by August and we must wait until next October when the Key Deer flies again.

Imagine being 9 in 1968 and going to see NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD when you're used to, like, Corman pictures
hemorrhage sing goddess@ragesinggoddess.bsky.social · 3d agoOh wow, fun fact!
![From the Wikipedia article on Night of the Living Dead: "Nationally, it was a Saturday afternoon matinee, typical for horror films at the time—and attracted the usual horror film audience of mainly pre-teens and adolescents.[105][106][107] The MPAA film rating system was not in place until the following month, so children were able to purchase tickets. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times chided theater owners and parents who allowed children access to a film they were entirely unprepared for. Ebert noted that the children in the Saturday afternoon matinee audience initially displayed typical reactions to '60s horror films, including shouting when ghouls appeared on the screen. He said that the atmosphere in the theater shifted to grim silence as the protagonists each began to fail, die, and be consumed—either by fire or the undead.[107]"](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:uvucqsixbbvtlbrzkbizn3s3/bafkreidrnvyjcfxgjjwcmqz33rizrzkpo4cmgxjcw2gc4fodbq3hozj3n4)

Always been partial to the Brewers as a team name: one of my Sicilian great-grandfathers worked for Pabst in Milwaukee, at a time when the union meetings were still held in German!
Tobias Wilson-Bates@phdhurtbrain.bsky.social · last wk.Occasional reminder that "Brewers" is an A+ team name and there should be more teams named after professions.
