Initially I was frustrated with the rise of self-checkout but I appreciated how stores passed the savings on to me rather than pocket the money, fire armies of workers & make me do a job I suck at. It’s also why I’m optimistic about AI! I have been kicked in the head by several horses.

Don't forget: Starbucks is boycotted. The company has received hundreds of NLRB rulings against it and still has 550 cases pending. Corporate is refusing to finalize a fair contract. Meanwhile, their CEO makes $14,900/hr. Baristas are asking for $17. No contract? No coffee.

Today I learned - Patrick Dennis (Edward Tanner III), who wrote Auntie Mame, came from money & made a huge amount writing. Though bisexual, he married & had 2 kids. He needed a job later though & became a butler, which he enjoyed, including for McDonald's Ray Kroc. He kept his identity secret.
