Been waiting for years for someone to write this piece. @DionNissenbaum’s byline meant it would surely include crucial analysis abt McGurk’s role in Iraq spanning to “‘the admin took an approach that… fed a narrative that the U.S. was viewing Palestinian lives as somehow less equal’”. Must read.

My dudes what is america without this? We immigrants are attracted to america because of Black culture, because of Latinx culture, because of the cities full of every type of person, because the prospect of coming to this country and succeeding despite not being white and wealthy.
It goes without saying that what is happening @washingtonpost.com is part of a wider effort to dismantle news institutions in the US at a time when they’re needed the most. From NPR to CBS to WaPo — those responsible for rights abuses know full well the power of honest journalism.
