Writing stories about innovation models that suddenly arrived, and changed the game completely. Reducing the time to paint a car from 37 days to 1 hour; switching driving side of the road; Netflix vs Blockbuster; Uber vs Taxis. But my favourite is Hot Dog Eating 1/6

I'm going to have a play with this, because I've been usingPhi-3, and running it locally on my own laptop. It's amazing to me that we can run something so powerful as a Large Language Model entirely on a tiny computer sitting on my desk!

Is this the AI elephant in the education room?Students can use AI to improve their performance on the assessment measures the world education system uses, whilst actually making them worse learners. And employers will see it and start to wonder what value exists in a credential

One thing I worry about with AI is that it is very good at persuasion, as studies have shown, even when it is persuading you of something wrong. For example, I asked Claude to create 10 pseudo-profound sounding leadership lessons that sounded good but were toxic. It did "well"😬

I realise that I use, and think about the output from, AI in quite different ways. If I’m doing a good online course, I never use the AI features. For example Coursera has a chatbot on every page, but I have never used it… 1/6

On the VPN question, the department is suggesting that if someone uses a VPN to sign up, then the platforms would be expected to check their posts on social media to see if they're actually based where the VPN says they are.

This is great if you don't want AI popping up in your Google search. And adding "Before:2022" excludes web content published after the creation of ChatGPT. So now I've programmed a shortcut key to add "Before:2022 -AI" onto my Google searches

I just learned that you can suppress Google search's annoying "AI Overview" feature by typing -AI at the end of your search. Game changer!
