In July, we decided to try to meet Nikki and Sion's landlord again by visiting the address listed in their contract - which is in Newport. A group of us went with Nikki, who brought with her all the necessary documents and evidence to make it easy for the landlord. At last, we met the man! (5)

A little thread 🧵 Over the past couple of months, ACORN Cardiff have been taking on the case of our members Nikki and Sion, whose deposit has been unfairly withheld by their landlord for 8 months! Content warning: - Profanities - Threats of violence - Physical aggression (Not committed by us) (1)

"We leave you with some of the images of the man made famine in Gaza where more than 100 people, including children, have died of malnutrition. The Israeli blockade has plunged the strip into a starvation crisis rarely seen in modern history" Never again, right?

Cardiff Council are trying to kick 17 families out of their homes for alleged links to the 2023 riots. This is disgraceful behaviour from the council. They have no desire to help those in need and instead look to punish those who were expressing anger over a devastating event in their community.

Headline from the Guardian:
Cardiff council warns tenants of eviction if household member convicted for Ely riots
If individuals are convicted and sentenced, council may go to court to seek repossession of their home, letters said.

Hey. Do you have money? Do you need something to do with that money? How about sending some of it our way so we can continue to help provide food for hungry families in Abertawe? You get to help people AND stick a middle finger up to government that has reneged on its responsibilities. Win win! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Thinking about the Cave of Hands, some of the art dating back to 7,300BC, where 25% of the hand prints are thought to be that of children. Imagining those people gently holding their child up to the cave walls, and using their tiny little hands as a stencil. Art = love = the human soul

Shwmae! We need money to continue helping feed families in Swansea. With Westminster's latest attack on those receiving benefits we can only expect the demand for our food parcels to increase and we just don't have the funds to help as many people as we'd like. If you can donate please do 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️
