#AnthropologyAugust 3 Largest I don't think I've written yet. Please admire the eldritch jawbreaker, as I like to call it. If you cut into the Overworld, you'll see why mana is something pumped to the surface like oil and used as a natural resource. A dead old god is the core of the world.

The Sigils overworld if you cut open the planet and only focus on mana. Yes, there's lava and water and all that fun stuff, but the eldritch jawbreaker before you doesn't bother to show any of that.

You have the crust where mana seeps to the surface creating arcane fissures. Some, the deeper well is highly toxic (shown in green). Massive mana reservoirs (All highly toxic) are too low for humans to mine. Get lower than the arcane mantle (yes, lava is magic) you get to an old god corpse at the core surrounded by flesh.

#AnthropologyAugust We have talked about the rarest, and the most plentiful but now let’s talk about the biggest. Do you have any intelligent species that could be considered megafauna? Or even larger that might be kaiju sized? #promptgame #prompt #writesky #writingcomunity

What is the largest intelligent species in your setting?

#AnthropologyAugust 4 Probably pixies. One is only briefly mentioned at the end of Sigils of Blight, admiring a human up close. Fae are so rare and unusual, avoiding humans, that they almost never come up. I have no plot in the Sigils book that explores them. Maybe in a later story.

#AnthropologyAugust Once again doing the opposite, we just talked about the largest intelligent species, now what is the smallest? Does your setting have goblins or gnomes? Or does it have even smaller creatures like bugs or fairies? Does their size affect their interactions with other species?

#MythAugust 5 In order of rank in Omera: • Mother Omera • Laurel of the Hearth • Gladiolus of Contest • Astrid of Passion • Alder the Analytical and Zinnia of Creativity • Dahlia the Forsaken (heretical) Navikula: • Dahlia the Learned (her old title) • Astrid the Lover • Omera the Betrayer 1/2

A picture of the human pantheon from Sigils.

Mother Omera is a four winged, six armed green holographic figure crowning herself.

Laurel of the Hearth is represented with olive branches, weather, brewing, and a breathing mouth.

Gladiolus of Contest is a sigil with four points shooting off into various symbols: A boar spear flanked by spearmen, fire, a shield surrounded my leaves, and a stitched ball flanked by some kind of sports bat.

Astrid of Passion is six people with long hair making different expressions. The dresses look a bit like a vulva.

Alder the analytical is a gear and columns painted with symbols, scientific and elemental (which is scientific, I know).

Zinnia of Creativity is similar to Alder's, but her sigil is curvier and dedicated to tools of art.

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

#MythAugust 4 Omera and her kin/saints are humanity's spirits. Other spirits existing is just fine, but it's immoral for a human to follow another spirit Mommy and her middle managers disapprove of. She disowned her daughter, Dahlia, who has her own sect of humans and pagan spirits she has... 1/2

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

Are there different factions among your deities? If so, what is their relationship to each other?

This place is real, but it's also an amalgamation of memories. The way we remember a landscape can be very different from its literal appearance. Some things become larger and clearer, others smaller and fuzzier. 🧵

Illustration of an overgrown path running along the side of a field with an old wonky fence. There are tall blue hills on the horizon, flocks of birds and clouds in the sky.

The Stars Reach Mountains block both the north (along with some icy water) and they stretch down the western side of the empire. Height, weather, and beasts prevent western expansion. More interestingly, the Singing Woods are a cave. The trees are as high as skyscrapers with a tree line so... 1/3

You shall not pass! Hey #CartAugust crew, time to dive in and really start looking at your maps. Today, we're talking elevation: highs, lows, and if you have neither, barriers to movement. Tell me about the geology, the history, famous explorers who lost their lives there... What do I need to know?

Talk to me about elevation changes in your world. Mountains, canyons, caves. Which is most interesting and why?

#AwesomeCharacters Thalia first tries figuring out how a typewriter works. Actually, she gives up and starts handwriting in a notebook. Her memoir has doodles in it of her as a big titty muscle woman sleuthing and smooching. Her LIs offer to hire a ghost writer. Thalia laughs at the inside joke.

#AugustWorldbuilders 3 There's trade schools, apprenticeships, and public school. Most notable to my stories would be the Four Orders' as they adopt children and give them something of a public education. At eight, a child can officially join the order as an initiate, which begins military... 1/2

Good day, #AugustWorldbuilders! Today's Q: does your world have specialized schools for people seeking a specific job or trade? Or anything like a magic or military school?

#MythAugust 3 Morality is a mortal construct. Omera nd her kin only demand piety, and if man-made morals keep that control, she will enforce it. No spirit is on an alignment chart, but humans will apply them based on how useful a entity is, or whatever tales their elders told them.

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 3d ago

#MythAugust 3 What kind of moral code do your fantasy gods or spirits follow, if any? Do they share similar moral values to the people, or is their sense of morality completely alien? Do they even do "morality" at all? As usual, interpret as you wish and don't forget to interact with others! ☺️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 3:
How does your deities' sense of morality align with that of people? I.e. are they moral, immoral, amoral, a mix...?
