Woo hoo! We're off to the Cairngorms for our next trip 14-17 August, at the lovely Muir Cottage near Linn of Dee. A previous August trip saw us heading up big mountains and also enjoying the bonnie, blooming heather in the surrounding pinewoods. We have monthly weekends away, new members welcome!

Had an enjoyable walk along the Fife Coastal Path today, from North Queensferry to Aberdour. Sunshine, wildflowers, woodlands, seaside, good chat and historic interest. We do a local walk on the last Sunday of each month. All welcome!

Really enjoyed this long weekend away - though the low cloud and occasional drizzle were a bit annoying. Especially as the rest of Scotland seemed to be sunny! However, I climbed three Corbetts and explored new places like Redpoint beach. Always good to get away with Red Rope.

We had a lovely trip to Aultbea last weekend. The weather wasn't always great, but we made the most of it. Some hills (An Teallach & a couple of Corbetts), swimming in the sea, coastal walks and fabulous shared meals. Thanks to LSCC for the fab hut! Our August trip is to Braemar, 14-17 Aug.

Excellent article, well worth a read. Of course access is political. Land is power. Giving the public rights to be on that land shifts the balance of that power, so it’s no wonder the landowners provide so many (mostly spurious) excuses against it.

What a great weekend we had staying in Achnasheen in June! Lots of walks, chats, good food and amazing scenery. 🥾 Our weekend trip next month is to Aultbea, but we also do regular monthly walks around Edinburgh. Non-members and new members always welcome!

Looking forward to our next trip to Inver Croft at Achnasheen on 19-22 June. We've had some great weekends there over the years - and of course all kinds of weather! We enjoy climbing the hills but do also lower level walks too. New members are welcome on our monthly trips away.

Lots of time today to chat, to sit in the sun looking at the views across Edinburgh and to watch a kestrel hunting on our walk in the Pentland hills. And it was a beautiful day too! Lovely to get out of the city.

Really enjoyed my walk today with @redropescot.bsky.social from Balerno to Swanston. Thankfully the predicted rain amounted to very little and we were treated to some fabulous views.

We had a grand weekend away in Ballachulish. The weather was good, our shared veggie dinners fantastic - and we also had some great walks. Our trip also included an interesting tour of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue centre. We have monthly trips, non-/new members are always welcome.

Looking forward to our next trip 15-18 May to Craigallan hut at Ballachulish. A great location for the Glencoe hills and Mamores. We were last there in February 2025 - stunning weather but freezing! Hopefully a bit warmer this time. New members welcome on our monthly weekend trips & day walks.

Wall-to-wall sunshine and no midges! Picked the right few days for a bothy/camping trip to the Rough Bounds of Knoydart. Absolutely stunning, Scotland at its best! 3 Munros climbed again & 2 Corbetts anew. (But I also picked up loads of ticks, there were deer everywhere). ☀️🥾

WATCH - Trudi Warner arrested, handcuffed, and carried for holding a placard with the law written on it outside Woolwich Crown Court. “There’s a High Court Ruling about this law” Trudi ought to know, because the case was “the Secretary General vs Trudi Warner”, and Trudi won.

What a great trip to Glen Etive! The weekend started wet but we still enjoyed the hills, incl Ben Starav, Glas Bheinn Mhor, Beinn Trilleachan & Buachaille Etive Beag. Appreciated the cosy hut at Inbhirfhaolain to dry out afterwards! Next trip 15-18 May to Ballachulish. We welcome new members!

Always enjoy trips away with @redropescot.bsky.social but Glen Etive was a wee bit wet last weekend, especially underfoot. At least we finally got some amazing views and sunshine! Climbed Glas Bheinn Mhór and Beinn Trillichean.
