I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

What is sorely lacking in America today is more compassion for others. With one in 300 dying of Covid, I can understand how the MAGA crowd could believe it a hoax. Maybe they never got sick, maybe they never knew someone who died. Sad that many of our leaders now choose lies over lives.

Actual cases of non-citizens voting in the 2024 election total less than 1000. But the SAVE act nonsense could threaten About 21.3 million actual U.S. citizens who do not have easy access to documentary proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers.

Without publicly traded shares creating a liquid market and assigning huge valuations to companies, fortunes on the scale of Musk’s would probably be much rarer. Wealth would tend to be tied more directly to business profits and tangible assets rather than the market value of ownership stakes.

Words are critical to sell successful legislation. Instead of “wealth tax“, let’s call it the “American Opportunity Tax”. It sounds better and recognizes that high income folks could not be billionaires without the tremendous opportunities they’ve been given in business by living here in America.
