Socialist; Gay, Green, Retired; love classic literature. I cannot tolerate injustice, and cruelty to humans or animals. Trying to keep sane in an increasingly insane World.

Here's something the media is hardly talking about. This Government is set to oversee the steepest fall in living standards in modern times - unless they change course fast. In less than two weeks Labour faces a stark choice - will they tax wealth and back the majority?

Under current projections this is set to be the worst parliament on record for living standards growth - and a bar chart demonstrating it

Wes Streeting accuses Russia of aggression and imperialism. Now do the United States. Illegally kidnapping the head of state of Venezuela. Launching an illegal war on Iran. Escalating an illegal blockade of Cuba. And what are we doing? Helping them!

The BBC & billionaire press are pretending this massive increase in Green share of the vote is a failure But if Reform had done the same instead of crashing down they'd be bigging Farage up into no. 10! Why? Because Green policy is to #TaxTheRich Which terrifies the British Establishment ...

If Reform had come a close second, the media would be asking Farage what colour curtains he's picking for No 10.

100% THIS!!!!!!! 👇 It's only our shitty media spreading doom & gloom, again. Remember: we may have come 2nd, but it was a #Labour safe seat & we MASSIVELY increased our share of the vote whilst Labour won by a smallish margin during the so-called #Burnham bounce. Our media are playing it down. 🙄

The contrast between the utterly sycophantic coverage this week of Kemi Badenoch, whose party has a truly atrocious electoral record under her leadership, and the utterly dismissive coverage of the Greens, tells you everything you need to know about media bias in the UK

Why the Holborn and St Pancras By-Election Was a Good Result for the Green Party

The dismissive coverage of Zack Polanski’s party obscures a far bigger truth about the rise of the left in British politics

As someone who left Labour for the Greens in 2022, I can tell you I will not be going back whilst the Labour party supports genocide, is openly transphobic, terrorises disabled people, wants the planet to burn and keeps talking about the “legitimate concerns” of racist mobs. So never then?

Previously unseen lobbying shows the oil and gas industry is misleading government on North Sea drilling. For now, it looks like Burnham is listening to them. Only a Green win tomorrow will force them to listen to us. New analysis from Influence Map 👇

Overcrowding in A&E linked to 'hundreds of deaths a week', study finds

A review of more than 19,000 adult patients found that for every 10% increase in emergency department occupancy, the chance of dying in the following 28 days increased by 1%.

As long as the Tories are threatening to leave the ECHR, they aren’t a serious party. Consider it the ultimate red flag. Any party who’d take this entirely unnecessary and ruinous risk with our rights and our country’s security and wellbeing should never get its hands on power. (Letter, Times)

Value of the
ECHR
Sir, In dangerous times, serious countries do not retreat into splendid isolation. They build alliances, multiply their influence and strengthen institutions. Key among those is the 46-member Council of Europe, at its heart the European Convention on Human Rights. As former independent reviewers of terrorism legislation we have seen at close quarters that the ECHR is not just a human rights instrument. It is a national security asset. Terrorist networks, hostile states, organised crime gangs and people smugglers do not respect borders. Tackling them requires arrangements for the closest possible co-operation with our neighbours, including through joint investigations and police access to European passenger, fingerprint, DNA and vehicle data. These arrangements expressly depend on internationally agreed human rights standards, applied by a supranational court. We detect no political willingness to excuse the UK from compliance with standards to which the rest of Europe already subscribes. As authoritarian powers grow more aggressive and democratic institutions face mounting pressure, Britain should not be abandoning one of its greatest postwar achievements.
The question is not whether we can afford to remain within the ECHR. It is whether, in an increasingly perilous world, we can afford not to.

A man builds an IED. He sets it off in a busy public street. Shrapnel flies about hitting cars, homes and a child's bedroom. It's a miracle nobody is injured. And Reform MP Sarah Pochin calls his imprisonment "disproportionate" and "two tier justice."

It does raise this point of two-tiered
justice..

Reform's Sarah Pochin believes the
sentence handed to the 64-year-old who
blew up a ULEZ camera was
disproportionate'.
