Even have that artist or celeb you just wish you had seen at a live show before they passed away? Rik Mayall. Legend. Wish he was still here. Regret never seeing any of his live stuff (probably too young at the time, but still).

I am watching an old episode of A Touch Of Frost, and the bloke who played the gas man in Bottom is in it. I’d like to tell you what’s going on, but unfortunately I’ve missed the last 25 minutes because I’ve had Rik Mayall shouting “GAS MAN!! GAS MAN!!” in my head.

Sometimes I think about the time Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson were preparing to shoot a legitimately dangerous stunt for The Young Ones. Rik turns to Ade, his close friend and collaborator of many years, and says “I’m scared, I think I’m gonna die.” And Ade just turns to him and says “Good.”
