Dear fellow narrators: If you are going to be narrating a British accent story, do not sabotage yourself by listening to your previous Australian accent story, lest you find yourself suddenly incapable of doing the required British accent in less than six takes. Signed, someone who now knows! 😆

I normally try to keep my social media accounts as JUST for my audiobook work, but... I never thought I'd be living in a time where I'd have to worry about both global warming and an ICE age.

A month ago, I started a third job (I know, why?!) as an audiobook proofer. And already it's making me a more conscientious narrator! Because seeing all the little mistakes that slip past others makes me more determined to stay alert to all the details in my own manuscripts. Yay for learning!

Today I learned that "coifed" has a synonym! "Quaffed", which means to drink heartily. Unfortunately, the author who used it meant to use the former word, unless someone is doing something veeeeery weird with their hair... Still, cool learning experience!

Suuuper behind, but here's my haul from the Realm Makers Expo! It was great to meet so many authors and to add so many interesting books to my TBR list. And of course, AMAZING to get third place in the Short Form Audio competition!

The great thing about recording an anthology is you can actually choose to record chapters out of order! This is especially helpful if you are short on recording time one particular day, so you can skip ahead to the shorter chapter and come back to the long one the next day.

The fact that there have been MULTIPLE people who ask me what audiobooks are when I say that's what I make is kind of astounding to me? Like, I get wondering what my ROLE in making them is. But to ask what they ARE? My friend. Audio. Book. The audio version of the book. It's in the name. 🤔
