I was proud to take part in the historic #PAHouse session at Congress Hall. Taking time to reflect on the complicated founding of American democracy, I'm filled with renewed optimism for the opportunity to serve my South Philly district to make this a government truly of, by and for the people.

Working mom, PA State Rep for the 184th District from #SouthPhilly, & Majority Chair of the PA House Energy Committee. Was a reporter at WHYY for a decade covering community and politics 🔎
The PUC issued a dire warning this morning about the outlook of PA's energy future. As Chair of the House Energy Committee, I propose a new vision: more renewables, a modernized grid, investment in battery storage, efficiency measures to manage demand, and oversight on Big Tech's data centers.
Yesterday, the PA House of Reps gathered in Philadelphia for a special session at Congress Hall to honor America's 250th - of course I wouldn't pass up a chance to use SEPTA to get there!

Extreme heat is a workplace safety issue. You have the right to speak up about unsafe conditions and to act together with your coworkers to demand a safer workplace.
Heat at Work | AFL-CIO
Exposure to heat at work has long been recognized as a health and safety hazard. Climate change is worsening the problem as heat at work becomes more deadly every year.

Big Tech like to play by their own rules, hurting their customers and clients in the process. But with bold policy like my Digital Ads Tax bill and increased oversight over tech's unchecked power, we can balance the playing field in PA. penncapital-star.com/2026/08/31/r...

I will never support a union-busting company, especially not when its unionized workers have been fighting for a contract for YEARS! No Starbucks for me, at my events, or in my office until Starbucks workers get the contract they deserve. #BoycottStarbucks
🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:
A former landfill in Voorhees Township will soon be covered by 13 acres of solar panels designed to generate renewable energy while lowering utility costs for the community.
A former dump in Camden County will soon be home to energy-generating solar panels

Grants can now cover up to 75% of the total cost of a solar project, up from the previous maximum of 50%. Districts can also enter power-purchase agreements with solar developers to more easily arrange for panel installation and secure lower, fixed energy rates. From @emilyscolnick.bsky.social

We all deserve a safe home, yet too many Americans can't afford crucial home repairs - a growing issue as we watch the destructive impacts of climate change. I was proud to vote for Whole-Home Repairs in '22, and excited see this bipartisan program now help countless Americans nationwide.
When we first passed Whole-Home Repairs, we hoped it would offer a blueprint for other states grappling with how to preserve aging housing stock and protect their residents. Today’s passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act shows the realization of this hope.
Return on Equity HB2224 passed the House today with a unanimous vote! This bill I cosponsored with Rep. Burgos would ensure that customers pay no more than what is necessary for their energy bills.
Last week, I was on CBS 21's Face the State to talk about an important bill that would protect consumers from skyrocketing energy costs. Return on Equity sets a fair, standard rate for how much shareholders can profit from utilities. When families are struggling, we need companies to do their part.
The bills are too high. But a new report shows that with the right policy choices, we could be saving Pa. residents $850/year in their utility bills. I spoke this week with @NRDCÂ and Evergreen Collaborative about how the House Energy Committee is putting working people first.
Pennsylvania households cannot handle another rate hike. Today, the House Consumer Protection, Utilities, and Technology Committee voted out the Return on Equity bill with BIPARTISAN support! This bill w/ @repburgos.com is one step in making life more affordable for working families.
No more tax breaks and loopholes for billionaires! Last week, my proposed tax on digital ads passed the Finance Committee. This bill will make Big Tech companies pay their fair share for putting advertisements on our phones. It would bring in $500 million -yearly! - to our Commonwealth.

Extreme heat is deadly: about 40 workers die yearly from exposure to heat. These deaths are tragic - and preventable. With guidelines for shade, water, and rest, we can protect the people who keep Pa. running. I'm proud to cosponsor Workplace Heat Protections w/ Rep. Jim Haddock
Every workplace death is preventable. This week, the House Labor Committee held a hearing on Workplace Heat Protections, my bill with Rep. Haddock. We saw an outpouring of support for the bill from labor, environmental, health, farmwork, and occupational safety advocates.
More than 200 @seiuhcpa.org members and POWER Interfaith visited Harrisburg this week with a clear message: as families and workers struggle, we must fund healthcare. My digital ads tax bill with @repabney.com and @repinglis.com would bring in millions of revenue to fund healthcare in PA.
If you profit in PA, you pay taxes. Simple. Yet huge tech companies like Meta make billions on digital ads but don't pay a penny to PA. We need a simple update to our tax code so Big Tech stops getting a free ride. This would add millions to fund schools, transit, and more. youtu.be/xMuR7k7a-Gw
