I was proud to take part in the historic #PAHouse session at Congress Hall. Taking time to reflect on the complicated founding of American democracy, I'm filled with renewed optimism for the opportunity to serve my South Philly district to make this a government truly of, by and for the people.

The PUC issued a dire warning this morning about the outlook of PA's energy future. As Chair of the House Energy Committee, I propose a new vision: more renewables, a modernized grid, investment in battery storage, efficiency measures to manage demand, and oversight on Big Tech's data centers.

When we first passed Whole-Home Repairs, we hoped it would offer a blueprint for other states grappling with how to preserve aging housing stock and protect their residents. Today’s passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act shows the realization of this hope.

Return on Equity HB2224 passed the House today with a unanimous vote! This bill I cosponsored with Rep. Burgos would ensure that customers pay no more than what is necessary for their energy bills.

Last week, I was on CBS 21's Face the State to talk about an important bill that would protect consumers from skyrocketing energy costs. Return on Equity sets a fair, standard rate for how much shareholders can profit from utilities. When families are struggling, we need companies to do their part.

The bills are too high. But a new report shows that with the right policy choices, we could be saving Pa. residents $850/year in their utility bills. I spoke this week with @NRDC and Evergreen Collaborative about how the House Energy Committee is putting working people first.
