Following a Mayday Relay from @alarmphone.bsky.social, on Thursday, our crew spotted an overcrowded rubber boat in distress. 27 people had spent three days at sea after leaving Zuwara, Libya, trapped in an unseaworthy boat with 1m swell, water taking on, and zero life jackets.

On Sunday, our NADIR crew followed a Mayday Relay from Osprey1 and evacuated 38 people in distress from an unusually small, overcrowded 6m rubber boat. The survivors included 4 minors from Somalia who bore visible scars from months of physical violence and torture in Libya.

On Wednesday afternoon, our crew evacuated 51 people from a rubber boat that had set sail from Libya the previous day – including 15 children and minors, 8 women, and 38 men. Once aboard NADIR, they received medical care.

Last night, the NADIR crew responded to an @alarmphone alert and briefly thereafter found 44 people, including ten women (one pregnant) and four children. Their black rubber boat already took on water.

Yesterday, the NADIR crew sighted 27 people in distress on a fiberglass boat. The boat had departed Libya a day prior, but its engine had failed, leaving those on board without any life-saving equipment. Everyone was safely evacuated onto our sailboat.

Following an Eagle1 Mayday Relay, the NADIR assisted 29 people in distress from a dangerously overcrowded rubber boat on Tuesday. Due to the urgent need for medical attention, all were immediately taken aboard the NADIR vessel. Tunisian authorities arrived but departed after a brief exchange.

Last Saturday morning, our crew found a fiberglass boat in distress with 47 people on board. @alarmphone.bsky.social had previously reported the boat. When our crew arrived, the boat was already taking on water, and the people had no life jackets.
Wednesday noon, our crew assisted 71 people in distress in a heavily overcrowded rubber boat. Among them women and children. The boat was at severe risk of capsizing with waves around one meter high. When NADIR arrived, the people on board were extremely exhausted, many seasick, some with fever.
On Tuesday morning, our crew encountered a rubber boat in distress, alerted by @alarmphone.bsky.social. 73 people, including 4 unaccompanied minors, were on board. Water was already entering and there was a high risk of drowning.
On Sunday at noon, our crew spotted 56 people, including several minors, crowded onto a rubber boat that was taking on water. Those on board reported that the situation was rapidly worsening and becoming life-threatening as the waves and panic increased.

Last night, 175 people on two boats were supported by NADIR with help of Merchant vessel IVY1. Our crew responded to a distress case alerted to by @alarmphone.bsky.social and soon encountered 75 people on an overcrowded wooden double decker who had departed from Libya 3 days earlier.
NADIR assisted 243 people over the weekend and found a fourth boat empty. On Saturday at noon, our crew spotted 78 people on an unseaworthy wooden boat. After stabilising the situation, the survivors were evacuated by the Italian coastguard.
❕Empty boats, shattered rights❕ On monday, following a Mayday Relay from EAGLE2, reporting 50 people on an overcrowded boat, NADIR headed south to support. Upon arrival, our crew observed a high-speed vessel from the so-called Libyan Coast Guard. Radar showed it stop briefly before turning east.

This morning, NADIR overheard a Mayday Relay from a fishing vessel: 130 people on a wooden boat. Alongside @openarmsfund.bsky.social’ ASTRAL, NADIR headed to the scene. ASTRAL notified about another case: 60 people on a rubber boat. We gave life vests, but the Italian Coast Guard soon evacuated all.
Today, we mourn three young sisters, aged 9, 11, and 17, who lost their lives far too soon, drowned Friday night in a flooded, overcrowded boat. Their mother, brother, aunt, and friends survived, but now face the unbearable grief of losing them in such a senseless way. Our thoughts are with them.
