Today @ryancook94.bsky.social is presenting his posters on the trials and tribulations of working with phages and organoid models. #VoM2025
If you work with Klebsiella phages, you would probably like to know what genes are involved in resistance. Check out @deuskamya.bsky.social’s poster at #VoM2026 featuring lots of mutants.
In our final poster at #VoM2026, @rapher97.bsky.social explores the gut virome in healthy ageing. Visit his poster to find out what to expect when you get older…
Who infects whom? A big question in virome research. If you want to learn more, check out the work from @apedramfar.bsky.social from her PhD. #VoM2026
Have you ever wondered about prophages in an important gut bacterium? Check out @xenadyball.bsky.social’s poster at #VoM2026
#Vom2026: Had a fantastic opportunity to share my work on Maternal influence in shaping up the infants' virome at this year's VoM in front of 900 researchers. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback so far, and I will be happy to talk more about it. @evelienadri.bsky.social @ryancook94.bsky.social
Earlier today at #VoM2026 @revathykri.bsky.social presented her work on the virus population sharing between mothers and infants. She did a amazing job! Find her during breaks to talk methods, findings and everything virome!
I'm proud to share the latest methods work from my group. Led by @revathykri.bsky.social we wrote a book chapter on how we process and analyse viromes. Thanks to co-authors @rikhaagmans.bsky.social @ryancook94.bsky.social & Alise Ponsero link.springer.com/protocol/10....
Virome Analysis
Viruses are omnipresent and the most abundant biological entities on the planet. They play a critical role in shaping the ecology and evolution of all life forms. This chapter provides methods to perf...

Am so proud to say the planet is in right hands! Thanks @Eaton Primary! A whole week of long distance conversation about his work in his school through phone, which he brought home for me to see!
Great talk on viromics methods by @ryancook94.bsky.social #Microbio2025 telling us his view on the good, the bad and the ugly. Part of the story published here: doi.org/10.1093/isme...

I'm very happy to report that Matt Schechter's PhD work is now online as a pre-print: "Ribosomal protein phylogeography offers quantitative insights into the efficacy of genome-resolved surveys of microbial communities", www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Here's a little 🧵 about it.
If you have been using #anvio to analyze your microbial pangenomes, we have a new program for you to calculate rarefaction curves or Heaps' Law fit for your gene clusters: anvio.org/help/main/pr... Sorry it took this long :/ But at least t will run on any existing anvi'o pangenome :)
