apparently channel 4 are planning to do a documentary on furries: x.com/rainingcoyot... this coming off the heals of a heavily sensationalised documentary about how adhd is "overdiagnosed" (it isn't) makes me worried, especially since they seem to be focusing on the kinkier side of the fandom

It has come to my attention that many UK furries (including myself) have a received an email similar to this from Channel 4 Here’s why I said no:

predators entrap children by treating them better than any other grownup treats them, but we must not see kindness and respect towards children as suspicious by itself. in fact, we must be the better adults for them.

dolly parton was many things, but what i think resonates so deeply is that she was kind. ACTIVELY kind. when i talk about proving love, this is what i mean. ACTIVE kindness. ACTIVE love. it can be easy to dismiss kindness, but i think the reaction to her passing shows it is not at all a placeholder

Dolly... what a punch to the gut... we need more people like her in the world, especially right now. She embodies what positivity, hope and working hard can bring to the world around you to make it better a place.

Very saddened by the death of Dolly Parton, she did so much good, broke so many barriers, and helped so many people that it would be impossible to list them all here.

Dreamed YouTube kept playing audio on my phone despite the volume slider being at zero and then it turned out there was a new "AI Volume Slider" that "intelligently" worked out which volume you wanted and I had to disable that.

god I wish bluesky had direct, private replies like I can do on fedi; sometimes I just want to thank someone for a post without potentially getting involved in discourse

even if you don't understand the way someone lives, their identity, their interests, their way of life - if it brings them happiness & isn't harming anyone? why not let it be.

been thinking about various things, wish I could write about some of them but I worry about coming across poorly and accidentally offending someone or being misinterpreted and some of them might just bring fire my way no matter how well I write

Wasn't going to post this (since these tests are rarely meaningful) but my result seems kinda unusual; most people I've seen who got Kindness had Determination being pretty low. Makes me wonder what the most+least common top two are.

The Undertale personality quiz, with Kindness as the top result at 75%, followed by Determination (65%), Bravery (46%), Perseverance (46%), Justice (45%), Integrity (36%) and Patience (35%).

every top-loading disc drive in any system made should have a little window on the lid so you can see the disc spin; the fact that this is so uncommon is a travesty
