That NY Magazine article about the supposed taboo against admitting you're struggling is such a classic case of a feature writer taking a thing their upper middle class friend group does and turning it into a general trend.

For two white people from eastern Mass who are only a year apart, my husband and I had extremely different upbringings. I grew up in a majority-minority city in a family that was always yelling at each other, and he lived in the suburbs in an old money family where no one was allowed to get mad.

We've had a dip in support for the last few months which is totally understandable since finances are looking tight for a lot of folks. But if you are feeling up for supporting an independent media site that focuses on manga, now's a good time to sign up for a yearly or monthly membership.
