Context is key. It’s key for humans. It’s key for AI agents.

Overanalyzing everything, including these words.
Fine, I’ll build my own agent harness for personal use…
AI has already been blamed for thousands of layoffs, but I choose to be optimistic. Get out there and experiment. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep pushing. The best version of you better situates you for whatever comes next, whatever that may be.
Yesterday I said PRs probably need to die, here’s a tool to help: pre-commit hooks. I don’t want them for me. I’ve already been testing, linting, and formatting. Now I have to wait after I think I’m just about done!? Yeah… I don’t mind my agent waiting for a little extra peace of mind.
I think maybe it's time for the PR to die: www.linkedin.com/posts/ricard...

Software Engineering Is Dead, Long Live Software Engineering
Rumors of the death of software engineering have been greatly exaggerated.

Random thought: good technical debt can be like TDD for an engineering org. I might need to sit down and write something to crystallize some thoughts.
Standards or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Defaults I didn't like standards for far too long. I was wrong. Maybe I can convince you, too. Link in the comments.

I am looking to chat with Software Engineers that work in physical systems (robots, drones, aircraft, etc) and can tell me more about the data problems you face. Bonus point if you use or consider using SQLite. We'd love to understand how our rewrite of SQLite can help you!
Maybe languages with strict compilers, like Rust, are the perfect companion to AI coding assistants.
Hey #dotnet folks if you’re using a CI/CD double check your resource URLs. A CDN has gone bankrupt and may cease operations in the next month. We are working to make transparent fixes but you can be proactive github.com/dotnet/core/...

Random thought: maybe AI coding assistants will mean more software engineering and less programming.
Open source or not, more people in tech should be working on a side project. It can help remind you of what you love about the field. It’s surprising to me how many people don’t do this.
Developers, do you want to verify yourself here but don't have a personal domain? You can use your GitHub account! 🦋🐱 I temporarily renamed myself to @nicolo-ribaudo.github.io :)

I love playing with new tech. I’ve used a fair number of the current AI code assistants. I first played with Tabnine years ago, long before GitHub Copilot was a thing. I think all of them currently leave much to be desired, but Cursor is my current tool of choice.
For those of you following 1k+ people, how does that work? Am I the only insane person who tries to read all the posts from people I follow? Am I the only one who tries to work all the way back through my timeline until I find the last post I’d previously read?
Ever spent too much time thinking about what text to put in your social media profile? … why do you ask? Now to go agonize over getting an actual headshot… or something.
