🏆 We were ecstatic to host the semifinals watch party at our Astoria Love FEC yesterday! The afternoon was filled with raffles and giveaways. Attendees had a chance to win NYCFC jerseys, soccer balls, and tickets to the next game. Around 50 people enjoyed the game together, with food for everyone.
Thanks to ABNY's World Cup for All Community Grant Program, we will be hosting watch parties at select Riis Settlement sites! 🏆Our first watch party will take place on Tuesday, July 14, at our Astoria Love Enrichment Center for the semifinals beginning at 2:30 pm.

I had a wonderful time visiting Ravenswood this past weekend to enjoy @riis-settlement.bsky.social's Spring Arts Festival. 🌷 I read beautiful poetry written by immigrant children, admired art by PS.166 students, enjoyed a dance performance, and even joined attendees on the dance floor! ☺️

Riis Academy hosted its 4th Annual Spelling Bee on April 15th, featuring impressive competition and amazing team support for one another! Each of the contestants was cheered on by their peers, and everyone displayed great talent as they entered the stage.
We were honored to welcome Assembly Member Diana Moreno @dianaforqueens.com to Queensbridge last Friday, where she learned about our programs, met with our staff, & connected with participants.
On Friday, I toured @riis-settlement.bsky.social, a longtime cornerstone of our community in western Queens. I met with their team and @unhny.bsky.social staff to discuss legislative priorities, funding needs, and opportunities for future collaboration, and even briefly joined a salsa class!
