it's still wild to me that i can't access any of the Indian opendata portals outside of India. like, what kind of state secret does the HMIS hold? not like my old passport would've done me any good in accessing the data anyway, given they've said it's not proof of citizenship.

I do think it’s really weird (colonial? morally repugnant?) that scholars whose research careers & books are on/about India, have nothing to say about the protests. Doesn’t matter how much you wrap your work in the language of in/justice, if you can’t engage when it’s spilling over it’s meaningless.
