First I fell in love with baseball, spending countless hours at Dodger Stadium, then going to as many other stadiums as I could. Then I fell in love with our national parks, visiting Yosemite first, then every park I could: Grand Teton this summer. If @mlb.com does this, I say goodbye, baseball.

MLB, White House discuss playing game at national park

The White House said in a statement that MLB asked the administration about hosting a game at a national park, adding that the National Park Service has not granted a permit to do so.

Just in case it wasn’t clear, when they say the U.S. Government’s paying for this, that’s YOUR taxpayer dollars they’re using. I’ll say this as many times as I need to: it is ILLEGAL to use American taxpayer dollars from the government to pay for candidates’ or parties’ political ads.

Call them "Extremist Nationalists" to align them with the Taliban. Because they aren't aligned with Christ at all. Christian Nationalism relies on state power & cultural dominance. Jesus's mission was to love & serve. State coercion doesn't defend Christianity… it fundamentally misunderstands it.

The left panel is a painting of early Christians sharing bread from woven baskets with all who ask. At the bottom, text from the Book of Acts, chapter two, verses forty-two, forty-four, and forty-five says: "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need".

The right panel switches gears completely to a modern photo of heavily armed tactical law enforcement in camouflage and riot gear out in an open field. One officer right up front is holding an assault rifle and staring right at you, while other officers are leaning over people on the ground. Down at the bottom, bold text reads: "We have to take these kids away," and it is credited to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The left side shows historical Christianity as welcoming, invitational, community-focused, and centered on radical hospitality and grace.

The right side shows how that same kind of solemn, monumental aesthetic can get twisted into a display of martial force, borders, and exclusion.

It is basically asking you to consider the jarring contradiction between a religion built on radical love and grace and a state enforcement of religious coercion.

Ironic that on the same weekend Nick Chubb comes back to Cleveland to retire, I’m now being forced to retire this souvenir mug of him from the one and likely only ever Browns game I went to in 2022 as it’s reached the point of cracking… Thanks for the memories, Nick. You were a rare good one.

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

DoorDash Spent $1.4 Million Trying to Stop Mamdani From Becoming Mayor. Now We Know Why.

In a wage-theft settlement, DoorDash now has to pay its workers around 100 times what it spent trying to beat Zohran Mam

For those who have forgotten the past 40 years: Tax cuts for the rich ...don’t trickle down Boosting military spending ...doesn’t bring peace Slashing regulations ...doesn’t create jobs Folks, we’ve seen this all before.

Gas prices hit $4.46 a gallon today — a gain of 17 cents over the previous week and $1.26 higher than the same point last year. Diesel prices are up more than $2.74 from a year ago. Families, farmers, and truckers are all getting squeezed. Meanwhile...
