Finding kid vaccine news and, eventually, the vaccines themselves, was my other full time job from 2020-2022. Finally getting those vaccines into my children, especially my two-year old whose whole life had been covid at that point, was the first time I took a real, deep breath of air.

Also the Republicans were screaming that Fauci helped authorize vaccines for children, which is something every goddamn parent I know was praying for every day for more than a year and have been thankful for ever since. These people are all self-centered idiotic sociopaths, nothing more.

Everybody told me to prepare myself for the insanity of youth sports. I was not prepared. One parent has already been banned from attending games. After two games. It’s an “Under 7” league.

As someone who lives in a red state, lemme tell ya. It's real hard to fly internationally without flying from a red state THROUGH a blue state. And otherwise, you're driving like six hours each way to fly from another airport.

A book club that I once attended read JAMES and had a long convo about abolition that lead to a long convo about enslavement and several people felt strongly that the country should have done something to better manage that time. Only one other person had even heard of Reconstruction.

I do frequently wonder what the average citizen of the U.S. knows about Reconstruction. As Du Bois would later point out, the backlash of lost cause propaganda didn’t just create mass disinformation about the civil war itself, but about the opening for actual democracy that briefly came after it.

Richie graduated (WITH HONORS) from his third and final obedience class. This sweet little goofball has made us all so happy and somehow he manages to look both like a doofus and also like he’s so proud?!

Despair at tomorrow being Monday again, but surely this week can’t be worse than last. Even if it is, though, this little guy is still gonna give it his best.
