Microsoft should exit the gaming industry and preferably my plane of existence. If BDS was not enough to convince sideliners, what MS did to id is unforgivable. Perhaps the most important western gaming studio in existence - a historied house of culture and art with genre defining talent.

Rest in peace id Software. I hope someone managed to save the source code for id Tech. What Microsoft has done here can never be forgiven.

More game publishers must denounce the ESA as a lobbying group that claims to support their interests. Claiming that minecraft private servers are illegal is the most insane thing I've seen from them so far. Pressure as to be put on the compabies, too. Not just the regulators.

I miss when LLMs used to hallucinate as though they were giving you another user's personal chats when you asked them.

Some of my favorite video game memories are just walking around beautiful environments, taking in the atmosphere, immersing myself in the world. It's those moments when I'm not following a quest or getting into fights, but appreciating the artistry of bringing the world on my screen to life.

MEGA IMPORTANT IF YOU LIVE IN THE EU NEW CHATCONTROL VOTE HAS BEEN FORCED FOR TOMORROW if it passes, we will see MASS AI SURVEILLANCE FOR MESSAGING eu-wide E2E ENCRYPTION MIGHT BE PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY OUTLAWED IN THE PROCESS, MEANING THE COMPLETE DEATH OF PRIVACY THANKFULLY, we have a WEAPON

Finally, I've done my first ever modchip install. Did you know there are homebrew apps for using third-party controllers? And I can now make backups of my save files, without paying an extortion fee to Nintendo. There are some fantastic homebrew apps out there!

A Nintendo Switch console, booted into the Hekate Bootloader

It's wild how you can set up a private gitlab instance on an unknown subdomain, never tell anyone about it, and still have signup requests from bots. I know DNS is public and all, but do people have nothing better to do than spam random servers in the hopes an admin makes a mistake? Absolutely wild.

Godot just gives you such a cozy feeling when you're coding. Things rarely go wrong, and when they do it's usually easy to fix. And it's so flexible, too. I feel like I can do anything with this engine.

The new Carpenter Brut album is an absolute banger, and tomorrow we're getting a new Gorillaz album. Life is good.
