A long, long time ago, I can still remember how that music used to make me smile.

This weekend is Y Not festival. I am not there. I am working. 15 years ago, my band played that festival. We also supported some up and coming bands. We never had any momentum. It was never going anywhere but it was awesome. I miss the noise and the people. I miss the youth and optimism of it all.

I have juat discovered that @nightsswimming.bsky.social have a presence on here. After seeing them at a recent festival, they have rapidly become one of my favourite bands. Follow them, stream their stuff, buy merch etc. They are awesome.

Sadly, I can't go to either of these gigs. Hopefully, it turns into a tour. Lonely the Brave are one of my favourite bands. If you don't like them already, you should have a listen. "Kings of the Mountain" is something I have to listen to occasionally to remind myself to keep on keeping on.

Coming from the States I've always struggled to understand UK politics. Apparently Farage has resigned from office in order to be elected to that office - but nobody will run against him except a talking trash can. And the BBC is actually interviewing the trash can.

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote. In the by-election, none of the major parties intend to field a candidate. If everyone who voted for someone else votes Bin Face, he is a shoe-in. Nothing would please me more right now than Britain doing what Britain does best, and electing a bin.
