The reason Israel blew up the 900 year old Beaufort Castle in Lebanon is (1) they have to fake their nationalist archaeological ancestry and can't bear any other regional history; (2) they were ignominiously defeated at Beaufort by PLO in their 1980s invasion of Lebanon & want to erase the memory.

Even tho i think every blue sky user reads books, I dont think most presses value the blue sly readership - they are largely chasing viral content on x, ig and tiktok... even a number of small presses.
upfromsumdirt@upfromsumdirt.bsky.social · 2w agoyeah, a lot of publishers have spotty presences online anyway, but bluesky remains particularly ignored by them, i think. especially in regards to poetry & the spec/sff, but bsky is built to thrive with those readers IF only the presses would engage & promote here better.
Definitely back in the ashbery mines however I did finally get a copy of this... read it from the library a while ago pre covid excited to read again

Tom, Legally Certified Date Simmelier@iiotenki.bsky.social · 2w agoI personally recommend at least two chairs from Japan Airlines so you can play JAL Seisouken Mahjong ("JAL Stratosphere Mahjong") with a friend thanks to its in-plane LAN multiplayer. Depending on the seat, you may only be able to play it through the touch screen, which I assure you is A Great Time.
