president, the sons of john the revelator@upfromsumdirt.bsky.social · 10h agothis was a core to us older gen-x heads. we've tried to instill this in our kids (and their kids!) but they all seem to believe in "let me eff this up on my own so that i know for sure!" - it baffles us. society has us trusting in personal struggle as a liberating obligation; it doesnt have to be.
And to say it to writers is especially bonkers! Anthropic just literally was sued by a bunch of writers for stealing their work! There’s a settlement!

pretty certain the black elders at the wake were critical of my poor cane-walking technique... i saw some shake their heads at me and at least one 'tsk-tsk' was softly (but very audibly) said. i caint wait to be In The Club so i can hiss back at 'em!
