1. Caves of Steel. Not sure. 2. Don’t know. But the 1818 edition of Frankenstein is one. 3. For a genre: SF. Not F. And absolutely not hard-sf trilogies. 5. Phlox Books in Leyton. 6. Best was The End of Everything by M John Harrison. 12. Most things we were forced to read were great.

This Tory candidate put our colleague & others through hell, was convicted of assault of police officer, extremist racism to Jewish & Muslim communities. Tory leader last month withdrew the Tory whip from Gavin Barwell after he posted criticisms of Badenoch’s stance against net zero. Tory choices

Suppose an Irish author publishes with a British press. Their local bookshop wants to get a few copies in. If they are already ordering €150 worth of other books from the same publisher*, that’s fine. But if they aren’t, they’ll either wait until they are ready to do so – meaning a delay in ordering

There’s so much crap down that thread. Also shows the power of mythmaking around Operation Dynamo (it was the world’s largest navy that took the troops off, not small boats) and that none of these people will have heard of the later Operation Aerial evacuations down the coast.

She's a perfect example of why people need to study history because no one who knows anything about Dunkirk would dream of writing something so insulting and wrong.

A lot of people today talking about an awful person who died but i want to make everyone aware of a good person who died: Northern Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, who you should all look up if you don’t know. 10/10 all around wife guy, dad, granddad, and just a generally solid person
