Given recent comments from Jack Chambers, I am genuinely aghast a govt minister could talk with no regard for laws of land, access to justice or seriousness of climate change. The levels of insulation from reality that this must cause....these are not serious people.

He was quoted in the Indo as saying no Government “should be stuck with legislation from a previous timeline or era” and oh boy is he going to be very surprised when he looks at how old some of the laws on the books are, or how the entire common law system works on precedent.

Why should I bring him up with a disregard for the thoughts & feelings of others, with the outlook of intimidating & one upping everyone around him, to dominate. Why shouldn’t community members step in & protect boys from intimidation, why don’t they deserve that? They deserve to feel safe

Carlos Noreña@carlosfnorena.bsky.social · last mo.The reason why it is essential to read IN BULK when studying history is not simply to amass empirical knowledge—though that is important, too, of course—but because *interpretation* requires thick contextual awareness, and there is NO SHORTCUT for building that up that awareness.
To me, there is nothing more evocative of nature than birdsong. Genuinely saddening news that is undoubtedly replicated across Ireland.
