A year ago today I held my kid for the first time. Hard to believe it's been that long already!

I don't really understand that "hit dogs holler" phrase.. or care for it. I only ever see it used when someone is trying to shut down an argument without actually saying anything or adding to the discussion. Also - why are we hitting dogs? I don't get it...
