This study by the Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice, which ran last month, found judges granted prosecutors' motions for pretrial detention about 3/4ths of the time. The study collated findings from 50 court observers who sat through 28 days of pretrial hearings between May and June 2025.

So, even the most glowing defense of this situation still makes him look like a complete asshole to someone who belongs to a class of people he claims he cares about more than any other issue. Which, like, is still baffling & doesn't say kind things about how he treats what he claims to care about.

Why would a person not make a friendship contingent on whether the other person respects their existence or the work/art they do? Why act like either of those things & the other person's ideas about them aren't a cornerstone of identity? Are all these people on better drugs than me? If so, why?!
We had a bullet go through my wife's pillow in our old apartment & when the landlord called the cops, they showed up, asked if anyone was hurt, & immediately left, never to follow up again.

The fans should just take over MtG at this point & start running their own tournaments w/ their own card sets & their own rules updates. It's a really fun, neat game, but I'm not planning on throwing WotC another dime for any of their stuff at this point. (6e already got me off the D&D train!)
I don't want to be mean about things, but the current state of "good" games writing so fucking depressing, holy shit, it's so bad.
I like how some days, there's a major institution or two & a couple public figures who line up to shit on trans people. Other days, we get legislation, executive orders, & SCOTUS rulings. & on other days still, there is comical level of discourse that makes you think life ain't worth it. Very fun.
