A big manfacturer in my sector started making hopeful meepings about bringing in AI...to laboratory equipment. I cannot overstate how regulated pharma testing lab instrumentation is. I believe that ended on the quality department of every contract lab on earth going "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDS?"
I run a labor history museum and the working life history association we are a member of started pushing seminars and classes on how to incorporate AI into our work. I guess I wasn't the only one to voice strong displeasure with this because they aren't pushing it anymore.
Low-level IT here, and after my company introduced Copilot I asked them to remove my licence for it so that it'd stop bugging me *all the goddamn time on everything everywhere*. It got to the point it was following me line-by-line down emails asking me to let it write them for me.
They don't realize lots of people have jobs that don't have much to do with a computer either. Wtf do I need claud for? To wash the dishes more efficiently? They are freaks
I got 3 careers, travelled half of Europe and worked in 3 different countries and only got a smartphone after doing half of that. I've never used ChatGPT, Claude, Sora or whatever. We always had other tools, of course... the difference is that we know what they do and how to use them, unlike you.
