I'm sure she was comfortable (& that's good!). But she just relentlessly helped. It's not that difficult. Love. Care. Help. 💚🌸

8 years ago, I told a story which changed my life forever. Shortly after, an old pal from college asked if he could turn it into a film. So I am DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE that 'Me, Myself & Mary' is not only finished, but has been chosen to lead the Tribeca Festival's animated shorts roster this year.

For those who don't know this story, which I first shared six years ago today.... This one time I got my days wrong at work and ended up alone in a room with my boss and the President of Ireland while I was on ketamine. 🧵

If you needed a reminder that time is a flat circle, here is the great Bill Bryson, in a book published 32 years ago, highlighting the classic pattern of demonising and pulling up the ladder on immigrants. On and on it goes.

"Croesus then asked if he should make war on the Persians and if he should take to himself any allied force. The oracles to whom he sent this question included those at Delphi and Thebes. Both oracles gave the same response, that if Croesus made war on the Persians he would destroy a mighty empire."

You have to go back to June 2011 to find the last time Ireland won four games in a row. G. Trapattoni's team beat N. Ireland (5-0) & Scotland (1-0) in the 'Carling Nations Cup', then defeated Macedonia, as they were then, in a Euro 2012 qualifier (2-0) before beating Italy 2-0 in a friendly game.

“BUY THIS BOOK AT ONCE AND HAVE A NICE DAY” Not only is Bill Bryson’s ‘Made in America’ a wonderfully illuminating book on American history and linguistics (in fact it should be required reading in the USA), the back cover of the 1998 Black Swan edition has great advice.
