“Our mission has always been to prove that you can imagine and innovate without exploitation. Mozilla Foundation is honored to be part of this Council that embodies those principles at exactly the scale and moment it’s needed most.” Perfect words for what we need to do @nabiha.bsky.social

Proud to join California’s Innovation Council to help shape AI that works for people 👏 https://bit.ly/3MxDq2T @nabiha.bsky.social @governor.ca.gov

Tech Cooperative? Been thinking about how the Thunderbird (Community) Council being involved in our business helps us avoid enshittification. How could we turn that system into something that is more inclusive of all users? Been fascinated by how Coops (think REI) democratize the corporation.

"Big tech. The mainstream of tech is wired to harvest our creativity, to harvest our data, to harvest our money. Only to benefit a few people. We can and must build a different kind of tech industry, that has humans in mind and shares the wealth with all of us"

In an era of AI slop and mega-monopolies, we must build pro-human, trustworthy tech. Mozilla is backing founders who are proving that this can be possible. Ready to join the rebel alliance? Watch Mark Surman’s talk at #SOCAP25 here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoFU...

"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." Strangely seems appropriate for both Jurassic Park and Silicon Valley.

Mozilla is more than any group or product. It's the Rebel Alliance A community working to make tech serve everyone, not just the shareholders of seven companies. Technology should be more than a vehicle for profit. It should empower people to live more fulfilling lives. That's Mozilla's mission.

We believe the future of technology can be good. That’s why Mozilla Foundation is building a better technology future. One built with care, powered by people, open by design. But we can’t do it alone. Join us and let’s make some good. mzl.la/44ZIdAO #MozillaFoundation #MakeGoodTech

Exactly. Lots of people find speaking to a computer naturally and getting an understandable response is useful to many. Denying that lots of people are using AI makes it *very* hard to have a real discussion about solutions to the problems these big AI platforms are creating.

There’s a very surreal conversation I keep having on here where people seem unable to hold two ideas at the same time, and I’m not sure why. It’s simply true that the Big AI platforms like ChatGPT are: 1. Extremely bad for society, in many ways. 2. Very genuinely popular with lots of people.

When did we forget that we had power? That the only way to change things was to DO SOMETHING to change it. Let's imagine a hopeful future - and then go out and make it happen.

Exchange/Microsoft365 account support built into Thunderbird now! Thunderbird users have asked us for this for years and now it is here. Enjoy. For nerds: the architecture built for this opens the door for JMAP support. blog.thunderbird.net/2025/11/thun...

If you use products and services from companies that actively undermine what you value - can you truly claim to value those things? It's a hard question, but we live in a time where choices abound. Choose to live your principles. #privacy #democracy #tech ryanleesipes.me/convenience-...

Convenience vs Principle

So many people I talk to complain about the companies who provide the tech services they use. And if you've read my posts here, you'll know I agree - so many of them suck. If it's not necessarily how ...
