I love the MSM framing of the headline: 'Trump-linked oil firm prepare to drill'. The correct headline should be 'US invades sovereign country, Greenland'. That's what this is and some would call that an act of war. Greenland and allies should blow the hell out of them. F*ck the mango 💩 stain!

Exclusive: Analysis shows 55% of accounts were located overseas – and seven of 12 most-read posts came from US More than half the accounts that posted on Elon Musk’s X about the rioting in Belfast and the civil disorder in Southampton in June were based outside the UK, an analysis by the Guardian can reveal. Of the 8,672 accounts whose combined posts about the events exceeded 1,000 views, just 45.3% were shown as from the UK, according to the social media platform’s own location function. “Lowe's language is the language of expulsion… So while Lowe struts around his acres, people in Thetford are having their windows smashed and facing chants of "we want them out".” It’s Farage’s language too though. Two cheeks. Same arse. www.independent.co.uk/voices/ruper...
Rupert Lowe is becoming the most dangerous useful idiot in Britain
Nigel Farage has been given some brief breathing room in the race to the bottom of Britain’s far-right thanks to his nemesis, Rupert Lowe, writes David Aaronovitch

I am begging @lewisgoodall.com and other British journalists to understand that Europeans no longer consider intra-European migration to be migration. All the conversation about emergency brakes is about non-Europeans. Until the UK understands that, it can’t even start the conversation.

Climate denial is getting louder. Reality is getting harder to ignore. When parks are brown, rivers are shrinking and firefighters are battling blazes across the globe, governments must accelerate climate action, not slow it down.
This burning summer is the proof: the voices of climate denial aren’t just delusional, they’re deadly | Sadiq Khan
Look at our blazing forests and parched cities. Green policies aren’t a ‘luxury’, and we can’t burn more oil and gas. People need the truth, says London mayor Sadiq Khan

Eh, no. The opposite is true. European governments were royally fed up of feeding the British euroskeptic crocodile. They wanted to tell Cameron to do one. Opt-out from ever-closer union was too much. An optout from the 4 freedoms would have destroyed the union. 1 H/T @dextercrisp.bsky.social
"I don't think it was fully realised how clear and present the danger was of the UK leaving the EU." Nick Thomas_symonds, (former EU relations minister) and Lewis Goodall on whether the EU was "crazy" not to give the UK more when Brexit happened
Astonishing that there hasn't been a scintilla of learning in the Brit elite in eleven years: it's still 'the EU foolishly isolated itself from us. Now it lacks vim, vigour, pluck and stif upper lip, vital products only we can supply. It must repent and give us free SM access"

there’s a lesson in there for the pro-EU movement. The rejoin debate will not win on rational figures alone. But on emotion as well. Do we belong in, will we stand together. Is our destiny tied to them - and do we want that?
2) Would it have changed the referendum result? Might I suggest a hard no on that. If you watch the UK migration debate what stands out is that no limit seems enough for those driving the debate. No argument (what about nurses? Researchers? Students? Agri workers?) of self harm affects the debate.
Nigel Farage trusts the markets, not the NHS. When you’re “gifted” £5m and earn more money through outside roles than doing your job as MP, you don’t have to worry about healthcare being free at the point of delivery.

Since water services were sold off by Thatcher to be run for private profit, the water companies have: - amassed debts of over £50bn - paid £78bn to shareholders - raised their CEO pay to £1-3 million a year - lose 2.87bn litres of water a day through leaky pipes - polluted EVERY river
Your weekend reminder Nigel Farage wants to - leave the ECHR - repeal the Equality Act - Strip back workers rights - Lift restrictions on exploitative zero-hours contracts - repeal the Renters’ Rights Act which abolishes “no fault evictions” youtu.be/KxOQRt8PQys?...
