Insane UX at this old train ticket machine in Strasbourg that confused almost everyone who went up to it. With this kind of iPod-ass controls, it must be, what, 20 years old?
The worst one of these that I keep seeing, over and over, is someone saying they’re looking for a job, with no portfolio link. And also no portfolio link in their bio. If someone has to chase down your portfolio, they won’t. The 40 reposts you just got have been useless. Link. Your. Portfolio.
Just saw a skeet from a person saying she’s looking for work with replies shut off. People should manage their social media interactions how they like, but that seems really silly to me. If you’re saying you want a job, maybe you could benefit from people telling you who’s hiring?
Some conferences already print your QR code automatically on your badge, but for when they don’t: It turns out you can just buy empty sticker sheets that fit into printers.
I watched True Lies again on a flight recently, and I think it’s hilarious how this amazing sales machine from 1994 is pretty much what I still hear sales people ask about today. I’m not a sales professional, so I’m genuinely asking: Why is this still a seemingly incredibly complicated problem?
Anyone who has ever tried this has failed, and eventually brought their games back to Steam. …except for Minecraft.
RUMOR: Xbox may be considering moving away from releasing their games on Steam:
Thankful that despite what happened in Berlin, the canal pride parade in Amsterdam is still absolutely humongous!
Out of curiosity I looked up how well the Odyssey is doing in The Netherlands, and, wow. Every IMAX show is sold onto the front row for the next few weeks. And this isn't even real IMAX. We don't have that in The Netherlands!
I'm sorry to say I'll be missing GodotFest this year! I've been conferencing pretty hard for many months, and I want to get some time and money back to invest in some work I can best do at home. I'll still be at Gamescom, Blendercon, and Dutch Game Week though. I hope to see many of you there!
Most folks know about rubber ducking, where you explain a process to an inanimate object, and it makes you understand your own train of thought. But I rarely see folks use another method, which I call 'walking outsideing', where you get up from your computer and let the real world refresh your mind
I wonder what is done with this data: To remove those posts from your timeline, or make them harder to spot?
Oh my God, this is not a drill - LinkedIn has added 'seems like AI slop' as an option on posts Genuinely thought it was a joke until I clicked on a few posts
This year we were able to make a Godot roundtable happen at GDC! I am hoping that next year, we can make a Level Design roundtable happen! If you are interested in hosting a level design roundtable, please contact me
I would really like to see a Level Design roundtable and a Godot roundtable at GDC 2026. But, I am already hosting two other roundtables, so I do not have the time for that. If you feel you could host a good Level Design roundtable, or a good Godot roundtable, please contact me. (No guarantees.)

This is a great video about Glacier from ioi, with Henrik and @andytouch.bsky.social: youtu.be/p7B0V_tlFeU?... I especially love the callout of the Glacier folks literally sitting together with the users of the tools. A critical point! (Also check out the Gym at 1:55 and the lighting Zoo at 3:32!)

Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%
I was too busy travelling last week to notice one of my video suggestions made it into the Tom Scott newsletter, wow! www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpHQ...
When I saw 'Koelnmesse' on a SIGGRAPH folder
I immediately started to chase down why there is no European convention, and then got flabbergasted in seeing that SIGGRAPH ASIA is organized by… Koelnmesse??? I just asked around at the show office here, and sadly they don’t have anyone present at the moment who knows, but they’ll contact me.
I think if you're a #Gamedev making LD (level design) tools, it's worth it to write a Idiot's How To Guide for them, even if you're solo, because it forces you to think-through and fix all the hinky steps that reveal leaky abstractions.
A generation of managers made a career out of copying ideas from other apps they've seen into their own app. Today, AI (which has seen every app) can do this a hundred times faster than any of them. The only problem is that doing this was always pointless.
Thoughtless features never add up to a thoughtful product
Your first idea for how to solve a problem is most likely to be a low-impact hack. Delightful user experiences require a higher level of thinking.

I am in Los Angeles this week for a bunch of conferences, mostly DigiPro and SIGGRAPH. I have never been to these conferences before! I have no idea what to expect! I am hosting two sessions at SIGGRAPH, so let’s see what that’s like. I am starting off with DigiPro, right now.
Help me out here: Aoili is not supposed to be spicy, right? I’m back in the US and within hours my lips are once again burning off because of what is supposed to be mild sauce instead being covered in peppers. Last time they got me by making a mayonnaise spicy. That’s illegal! It’s MAYONNAISE!
idk it just looks unfinished without a giant PlayStation banner
Los Angeles, one of the biggest metropolitan areas of the US, hot as hell all the time, with AC blasting away, and not a single solar panel on any roof. Man. I’m wondering, @techconnectify.bsky.social, what is the real reason for the absence here? Regulations, cost, something else?
I've gotten so many comments from the crew that they like my shirt 😸
I feel like society is currently running like a long haul flight. The business class seats are so expensive, yet it is so little money to the folks sitting in them, and they're essentially paying the cost for the entire flight to happen. Economy is along for the ride, for a little profit.
