Writer, writing slowly. Wisconsin native, Cambodia Daily alum, UofOklahoma alum living in Chicago for the last 20 years. My name was correctly spelled in The Atlantic once. He/him.

I recently stopped in Japan for 5 days and flew into Osaka for 1 overnight stay because I heard the Kapital store there tended to have Century Denim (left photo in the quoted post), in their big (me-sized) sizes. So once again Derek knows what he’s talking about.

The amazing denim industry in Japan means that Kapital, a store in Tokyo, can sell specialized, innovative jeans based on deep research and craft skills. And there are customers who know what they're buying.

Kapital's uniquely textured "century denim." The denim has small dots all over it.

My least-favorite part about long haul flight is falling asleep, then waking up to see there’s still 6 hours to go 😭😭😭

I love the Timeshifter app once I get to my destination, but it basically gives you jet lag in advance, which is awesome when you’re, for example, trying to get 6 people packed hours before we leave for the airport.

The last time a scrappy OU underdog won a national championship (for this I’m using the 2000 football team), I lived in Cambodia. Guess where I’m headed tomorrow night? #Boomer

LOL if you thought the Trump boos were loud on TV, wait until you hear them from inside MSG. Video courtesy of Evan Roberts from WFAN on X.
