Today is the day to vote progressive. In Michigan, vote for: • Abdul El-Sayed - US Senate. • Donovan McKinney - District 3 • William Lawrence - District 7 • Aisha Farooqi - District 11 • Rashida Tlaib - District 12 And in Missouri vote for Cori Bush - 1st District.

The broader context here is that some genocide scholars fear that the U.S. is already in the early-to-mid stages of a genocide against transgender people. That the rhetoric and legal efforts to deny them the healthcare they need and exclude them from society demonstrate eliminationist intent.

Replace the scandalized candidate with someone without the baggage who also stands by trans people, single-payer, ending genocide, etc.—the stuff that won the first candidate the primary. Ostensibly the goal is to win the state, right? Give Maine voters wanted. This should not be controversial.

This is my read. The party seems poised to use Platner’s implosion as a justification to do an end run around democracy. 70% of Maine Dems voted for Platner despite his scandals. You can chalk it up to mass stupidity OR you can accept that it’s bc of what he ran on and the way he went about it.

Everybody is rightly focused on Belgium right now, but the USA bullying and humiliation is also aimed at Bosnia and Herzegovina, trivializing the foul on Tarik Muharemović. And this comes just weeks after the US pushed out the High Representative in BiH so that they can build Trump's gas pipeline

A footballer hitting the ankle of opposing playerOn 11 May 2026, Christian Schmidt announced his resignation as High Representative, with a new representative planning to be appointed by 14 July.[18] This came after the U.S. demanded Schmidt's immediate resignation, away from a previous agreement where he would stay in his post until elections in October.[19] His term ended on 1 July 2026, and was succeeded by International Supervisor for Brčko Louis J. Crishock as acting High Representative.[20]

The U.S. has presented Italian ambassodor Antonio Zanardi Landi as its preferred candidate. France, Britain, and Germany, meanwhile, have mostly supported René Troccaz, France's special envoy for the Western Balkans, as their candidate. European officials reportedly believe that U.S. manoeuvring is related to an attempt to secure a contract for the $1 billion Southern Interconnection gas pipeline, meant to connect Bosnia's energy supply to Europe, for AAFS Infrastructure and Energy, a company personally connected to president Trump. If Landi assumes the position of High Representative he will be able to take actions in support of the pipeline, such as by transferring nationally owned land in Republika Srpska to the confederal government. Landi has unofficially promised to not overturn decrees from previous High Representatives, not make substantial actions without consulting the PIC, use the Bonn powers as last resort, and not unilaterally dissolve the OHR

It's really hard to convey just how massive the scale of legislation has been to target trans people. From a few dozen pieces of legislation in 2015 to over a thousand in 2025. It started with sports bans in 2020 and now we're here. it was never about sports.

A bar chart titled "Figure 1: Anti-LGBTQ bills introduced per year, 2015–2026." The chart displays two sets of bars for each year: "Bills Introduced" (dark red/gray) and "Bills Enacted" (yellow). The data shows a significant upward trend in introduced bills starting in 2020, peaking in 2025 at over 1,000 bills, with the 2026 data representing a partial count as of March 2026. The source is noted as LegiAlerts.org Big Compilation Anti-LGBTQ Legislation Sheet.

RESULT: Darializa Avila Chevalier, a challenger backed by New York's left, has ousted Rep. Adriano Espaillat. An earthquake result, which means all 3 congressional candidates backed by Mamdani have won: Chevalier, Brad Lander, and Claire Valdez.

Congress needs more Claires: a renter, union organizer, and 36-year-old progressive who will defend working Americans, not corporations, real estate developers, or the special interests making our lives hell. Leaders We Deserve is beyond proud of our support for @claireforny.bsky.social!!!

RESULT: Claire Valdez has won the open Democratic primary in #NY07, and so is virtually certain to head to Congress in 2027. Valdez is the second of the Zohran Mamdani-backed congressional candidates to win in tonight's major Dem primaries, after Brad Lander.

The guy who gave the Nazi salute just became the world's first trillionaire. Capitalist-to-the-bone liberals have been proven wrong about their system for all who have eyes to see. Come join the left!

NEW: Trump shrugged off the possible collapse of peace negotiations with Iran, telling CNBC's Eamon Javers, "I don't care if they're over, honestly." "I really don't care. I couldn't care less."
