It's notable that when Belarus/Russia did this to Poland, other EU countries didn't respond by blaming Poland. They blamed Belarus/Russia. No mystery why Europe's governing conservatives are blaming the EU's only leftist prime minister.

Very bad, but we've had Schengen suspended for political reasons across half of the continent, more or less permanently, for the last 11 years This is a natural progression of that unchallenged practice. Notably, I'm not seeing a suspension notice yet at home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/policies/sch...

Continued threat of terrorist infiltrations into migratory flows along the Western Balkan route, ongoing crises in the Middle East and Ukraine, high level of irregular migration including a strong presence of criminal smuggling and trafficking networks; land borders with Slovenia. Expected public-order and internal-security threats linked to the Festival dell'Alta Felicita in Venaus (Susa Valley), including likely participation of radical activists and possible violent actions against the Turin-Lyon railway construction sites and deployed law-enforcement personnel; land borders with France.

This is such crap, but along with the endless (and some would say illegal) Schengen suspensions, another reason why the EU needs a common residency policy *and* administrative body to handle it. For personal reasons, I've had a recent crash course in how it works now and it's a complete mess.

So, was prompted to revisit this today, and discovered that the FRA do in fact have an interactive explorer where you can play around with the data from this survey, which is interesting. In short, I now feel I was if anything too generous to Sullivan on this bit the first time.

Only the final 1/3 said that they hadn't had a medical determination and purely self-evaluated their status. On top of this, the question didn't just ask how they knew they were intersex, but how they found out about their "variation of sex characteristics", and about specific body features! 22/
