One of my fave micro-genres of horror is "unspeakable thing trying really hard to pass for something normal, and getting it like 87% right." Stephen King's "From a Buick 8." The backrooms. Ancient fables where the devil/witches look human except for one hoof. Mimicry is predator stuff. OMINOUS.

This is what I’m talking about. All this does is silence rape victims, silence the discussion around rape as a concept. We can maim, kill, flay and murder as much as we want, but the second there’s rape, we have to clutch it up and hide it so no one can utter a word
