This is a very personal fundraiser for me. KoRoot was there for me in 2022 when I tried to find birth family & answers. They gave me a place to stay. They listened and offered kindness. They gave hugs and emotional support. They helped me figure out the transportation and how to get COVID tested. +

KoRoot’s initiatives include interpreting old documents, assisting adoptees during their visits to South Korea, supporting the rebuilding of relationships, and advocating for adoptees and families involved in the adoption process. Donate: bit.ly/ReuniteWithBTS Form: bit.ly/ReuniteWithBTSForm

At the bottom of the poster is a light orange banner with words in white reading #ReuniteWithBTS OIAA Festa 2025 Charity Campaign. Above the banner, filling the bottom half of the poster, is an image of adults sitting at a table with food, and a group of adults standing in line behind them. The people are smiling at the camera holding one hand up with finger hearts, peace signs, or “fighting” arms.

On the top half of the poster the poster text reads KoRoot works closely with adoptees who wish to understand where they come from and dream of reuniting with their families. Their support includes:
Interpreting old documents, often written in Korean or classical Hanja, and tracing information when documents are missing or falsified.
Offering a safe and welcoming place in Korea for adoptees.
Providing professional support to rebuild relationships across language and cultural divides.
Advocating for accountability for past wrongdoing.
Preventing future abuses through education and research.

I am not a huge football fan, but watching the Eagles sack MAGA-MFer Mahomes, feeling Batiste’s rendition of the anthem in my soul, seeing an American flag made up of incredible Black dancers, and watching the Pulitzer Prize winning Kendrick Lamar …. This really feels like resistance in pop culture.

Kendrick Lamar standing in the middle of dancers dressed in red white and blue making up a flag.

Just showed the latest ‘HeGetsUs’ Super Bowl ad to Jesus and Johnny Cash and they’re both freaking PISSED.

Archivists+ … has anybody read/used the book Exploring the Archives: A Beginners Guide for Qualitative Researchers by K. Roulston? I have a prof using this as a text for a class and I find the book to be super problematic. Would love to discuss.

I was uncomfortably cornered in an elevator packed with fac/staff and spotted a similarly uncomfortable 1styr student with a BT21 lanyard… “I like your lanyard.” “Uh, thanks.” “Who’s your bias?” “Jk. You?” “V.” ✌🏼 And we both smiled stupidly big. #btsarmy 💜💜💜

What survivors know that society must recognize: “Sexual assault often goes unpunished when victims fail to fight back. But investigators, psychologists and biologists all describe freezing as an involuntary response to trauma.”
