I do think that the Era of Hot Takes has done some damage in that people really seem to be trying to crowdsource an ethical framework and you can't actually ask strangers to do your morality homework. you need to come to those decisions through hard personal thought so you believe in them.
Folks talk about the friends who drop you when your spouse is ill, but it still sucks when it happens. Had a friend of over 25 years just kinda get tired of me, give a speech like "why don't you just do things easy, because all this is so easy;" I suppose that made the distance mutual, but still :/

The ironic part is I think people may think it makes them look more "professional" and "slick," and as someone who used to do marketing for a lot of small business, honestly, people often respond better to rougher, more human designs.
