Watched a multi-acre fire break out before my very eyes and then watched a bunch of helicopters show up and put it out. Government was a good idea, it should do more things like that instead of evil and corruption

It's stuff like this that makes some of us keep asking how did it happen that on the first day of the Israel-US joint attack on Iran an elementary school was destroyed by the US? How did it end up a target and how was it decided that the US would hit it rather than Israel?

Today is first use of the "Particularly Dangerous Situation" alert in the PNW since its introduction 5 years ago. This isn't a normal red flag: we expect gusts of 35 to 55(!) mph tearing over many large fires. If you live on the east side and are told to evacuate, grab your family and pets and GO.

Ya know when you put it this way maybe I am proud of being descended from 19th century German immigrants to America after all. The more I learn about the 48ers and their contributions to the civil war, early civil rights and the labor movement the more I find to be proud of. Its cool tbh.
